Our history
Founded in 1999 in Queens, New York, a radio show called Reveil Martinal (Morning Awakening) was started by a group of Christians with the aim of proclaiming the word of God to everyone and promoting social well-being to those in need.
It was during a retreat organized in 2016 in Long Island that Reveil Matinal decided to go to Haiti to organize an evangelistic campaign in the district of Deuxième Plaine in the commune of Petit-Goâve under the direction of Pastor Sael Samuel with the permission of the President of the Southern Mission. During this campaign, conducted in 2017 in Allium, the eighth section of Petit-Goâve, a group of sixteen (16) people were baptized and decided to walk with the Lord.
With these sixteen (16) people, we decided to establish a church in the Allium community within twelve (12) months following this campaign. After three (3) years, in 2020, we noticed that there were many children in the area who were not attending school. Not wanting to remain indifferent to this social problem, we decided to set up a community school, in concert with some members of Reveil Martinal (Morning Awakening). To bring this project to life, we needed to find volunteers who were willing to contribute, either financially or with their time. To start, a sum of money was allocated, and the First Elder of the Church of Vialet, the late Mr. Grégory Clerobrun, took the direction of the school voluntarily. Three (3) teachers were hired with a modest salary.
This school is named after Man Nana (Marie Ariana Ignace Germain), who dedicated her life to helping people in the area by teaching them to read and write. Thus, the school was named in her memory: "Mixed Institution Man Nana Allium." Everything was done under the responsibility of the contributors, who, despite their limited means, continued with the project by faith, even as many of them lost their jobs due to the arrival of COVID-19. Our creed was: "Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change humanity," inspired by Nelson Mandela.
